Hmm, from what I understand there are a few 'question and answer' games in Wario Ware so those would become trial and error, but the number of those particular games is quite few.
Unless you've seen a Japanese copy for a far cheaper price, I'd personally try to pick up a U.S/U.K one for a more complete experience.

I'd say go for the JAP version. There are a few games and one whole boss that is pure trial and error because of the language. I enjoyed my JAP version of the game so much because it is so quirky and off the wall, the fact that the language barrier made it even more bizarre because I didn't fully understand what exactly was going on.

As has already been said, there is one section which is purely based on spelling and mental agility. So if you aren't good at rather swiftly noticing spelling errors in hiragana (or guessing) then it's best to get the English version.
Although for some reason I found the English version easier because I was working out what to do in the Jap minigames for myself instead of being able to quickly read the Japanese instructions.

If you can play it cheaply, I'd get the Jap version, as it's more of a hectic and fun experience than being told what you have to do. But then again, you're missing out on being able to do some of the mini-games, because of the language barrier. Maybe 2 or 3 of them at most, but... you know.

The English Language version doesn't "tell you what to do", it simply has a single word that appears before each game such "avoid" or "eat". It only appears for split second, so it hardly has time for you to take it in and doesn't makes any difference at all.
To totally finish the game, you have to complete each mini game a set number of times once you have unlocked them all. The spelling one you have to complete 5 fives. I think you could fluke it once, but 5 times is a bit much, meaning that truly completing the game will be nigh on impossible and you won't unlock the final minigame (not that it's great, but it's worth having if you're a completist like me).
One thing, it's possible Made in Wario may be compatible with the Gc version, in which case think about which if GC version you may get (if any).
