Hi all,
I have a problem, well lots actually, but lets not go there. What I mean is, I hate the idea that one day in the future I wont be able to play some of my games. What am I talking about? Wear and tear!
I currently have 3 brand new, never used PAL SNES control pads sitting in a cupboard ready and waiting in case my current pads break down. I went through a number of SNES pads back in the day as the L + R buttons were subject to breakage so I bought bulk to secure my SNES gaming future.
But, my problem is with the N64. Whilst I love the N64 pads, the control sticks are hideously designed and seem to start wearing away the instant you start to use them. I have tried opening them up and replacing the lubrication, but it's not the same, they never feel right afterwards. In addition, I feel that I will only be able to take apart and rebuild a single N64 control pad so many times before something breaks proper.
So, what can I do? Are there any 3rd party control pads that are decent and have a more robust control stick? Is there a converter to allow me to use GameCube controllers with the N64 (oh God, that would be perfect)? Another solution?
Please, share your knowledge with me before it's too late.
Thanks in advance.
