Call Of Duty 2 on veteran :(

Got to a stage where i have to get into the center of a square i am in and man a Flak Gun, to take out the planes before they drop a bomb. As soon as i move i get shot to **** by the soldiers on the rooftops, yet if i try to take them out, the plan drops its guts on me.

Seriously frustrating difficulty spike. Anyone done it, can help me out?

I remember this bit well as it caused me some stress. Are you trying to take the soldiers out with the turrent gun thing? If you are abandon that tactic. Shoot them with the standard rifle. Remember they surround you so you'll need to work out who to shoot first. It is possible. Just keep attempting it hardcore style.

Launched the controller a good few times doing this on vet, if memory serves me the worst part was taking out the mortars from the silo tower....horrible.
For this level the best tactic is what has been said use your rifle and take them out as quick as you can.

Yep, going at them with the standard rifle (over the ****e machine gun) but find it so inaccurate it takes me too long, in which time the plane drops his bomb. Guess i just need to man up!

This wasn't the worst part for me, I can't even remember this part. The hardest part by FAR for me was when you had to clear all the buildings labeled A, B, C, etc.

Hardest thing in ANY of the COD games imo.

At this part now, wtf are you supposed to do? The landscape seems to have changed too as now past the perimeter is flat, and i can't get a shot on the majority of the mortar teams

The mortar guys do follow several set patterns it's just learning their locations and taking them out asap. Sorry if this sounds vague as fook, spent a good hour or so stuck on that part. Keep at it mate
