Asian mega drive/Cd question

Looking at picking up a JP Mega CD as my pal one wont play on the TVs over here but before i do I just wanted to confirm if a regular Japanese mega cd definitely works with the Asian megadrive.


Also is there any way to play pal or ntsc-us games on the Jp mega-cd? Can't go without playing Snatcher every now and then, yet no release for the system Japan....

Is your asian megadrive ntsc-j or pal? If its ntsc-j your fine.

It'll work with a PAL Asian MD too.

CD-X cart for other regions. Good luck finding one though. Multibios too. More reliable etc.

Musashi, I know how difficult to use the CD-X so is there any way to change the region of a game by ripping it and adding code from an NTSC-J game?

yes, there are a few Mega CD region code programs out there. I'm in work now so I can't access some sites but head on over to places such as SegaXtreme or even just google it. I use one at home to play PAL and US Stuff on my Wondermega.

Tempted by a wondermega myself although not too keen to trade in my pal collection for a Japanese one. Still sexiest console ever, no doubtt.

Hey guys, been trying to convert some roms for mega-cd so they play on my Japanese mega-cd, however, I'm having a ot of trouble using SCDConv in Vista. It just wont load and instantly crashes just after opening it. Has anyone else had the same problem, and if so have you found a way around it? Are there any other programmes available?
