Outlook express no longer reading hotmail?

Hi guys, since the beginning of time ive been using Outlook Express to access my hotmail, but alas its gone F-UP.

I have tried deleteing and re-entering the details but no joy, the error in question is thus:

Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Forbidden', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC33

Any ideas would be greatly recieved, thank you.

Don't know if you figured this out yet, but it sounds like this is the cause:

The upshot is that you'll have to use POP3 instead (if you continue to use OE).

I would recommend against the POP3 suggestion - it's more elegant (IMO) to download & install Windows Live Mail and use that instead.

Windows Live Mail is just like Outlook Express, except it has a glossier Vista-style finish, it adds junk-mail filtering and it still supports accessing Hotmail the old way.

Using Windows Live Mail will mean that if you move a message into a folder at home, it'll be moved just the same if you access your mail through the Hotmail web-interface from work (and vice-versa: all the changes you make at work will be reflected in Windows Live Mail at home).

When installing Windows Live Mail, just make sure to untick all the other crap that the installer offers you, otherwise it'll reset your homepage to MSN entertainment news, change your broswer's search engine to Bling and install extra toolbars that no-one ever uses and which just consume screenspace.
