    Windows Wallpaper Problem

Hey all, about 10 minutes ago Windows XP decided to stop displaying my chosen wallpaper and only displays the background colour selected (blue in my case).

I'm currently using the Windows classic style and this is where the problem lies I believe. If I use the Windows XP "Lunar" style, the wallpaper displays correctly.

I've not done anything unsual to Windows in the last 48 hours or so, I've even tried performing a system restore but with no success.

Has anybody experienced this before or even better, have a solution to fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

The usual suspect for this problem is when you use a non .bmp file as a wallpaper and Active Desktop is disabled. Try this...

Go to Display Properties (inside Control Panel), select the "Web" tab and make sure the "Show Web content on my Active Desktop" box is checked.

Some of the options might be named differently under WinXP (I use Windows 2000), but you should be able to figure them out.

    Hope that helps.
