I have a softmodded box but never use it. I'm pretty sure it dual boots depending on whether you start with the power button or eject. If you have a pre v1.6 it is worth fitting a chip or flashing the onboard BIOS (TSOP) as it makes things so much easier.

Hi,
I also meant with a v1.6 a TSOP flash is not an option. You can still fit a chip of course but I would avoid them if possible. I've never found them to be reliable.
I have a v1.4 that I bought new and chipped immediately that I have used nearly every day (XBMC) without an issue. With them being so cheap 2nd hand it makes sense to find a suitable model.
