I have a softmodded box but never use it. I'm pretty sure it dual boots depending on whether you start with the power button or eject. If you have a pre v1.6 it is worth fitting a chip or flashing the onboard BIOS (TSOP) as it makes things so much easier.

Yeah, I may consider doing that at some point.

The answer to the widescreen issues with Evox was to update the virtual eeprom from Krayzie's Extras menu.

Why do you recommend fitting a chip in a pre 1.6? Or were you referring to TSOP flash in a pre 1.6?

Probably because (ime at least) soft modded xboxes are a PITA.

Yeah, but it was the pre 1.6. I have a 1.6 Crystal and a SmartXX LPT that I've never been brave enough to install, and I wondered why the pre-1.6. I know there's no pin header thus it's more hassle, so maybe that's what smouty meant.

I would think thats it, 1.6 is much harder to mod, although the solderless adaptors are a beautiful thing.

                Hi,
I also meant with a v1.6 a TSOP flash is not an option. You can still fit a chip of course but I would avoid them if possible. I've never found them to be reliable.
I have a v1.4 that I bought new and chipped immediately that I have used nearly every day (XBMC) without an issue. With them being so cheap 2nd hand it makes sense to find a suitable model.
