Samsung DVD-N501 Nuon/Tempest 3000 Where&How?

Hi,
I would really love to get hold of this dvd player to experience Tempest 3000,any idea at all of any places that stock these?Anyhelp at all greatly appreciated.

I got the 501 from ebay, and the game from a website linked from the llamasoft.co.uk forum, can't remember it now, sorry.

-edit- Just remembered, I've also got 4 spare shrinkwrapped copies of Tempest3000. If you manage to get the player, PM me an offer for the game.

If you do track down an N-501, Jeff Minter has a few copies of Tempest 3K that I think he was practically giving away. You'd probably have to prove you had a 501, though

I'm after a nuon too. There is a regular e-bay seller doing them new for $80, but I'm scared of ebay... does anyone know of anywhere else?

I've got a 501 and badly....BADLY need Tempest 3k.

oh and a Logitech joypad.

Only problem with the 501 is that it simply won't play PAL DVDs even once the region lock has been disabled.

A better machine is the N504 which is the European version, however some of these have the joystick ports removed, so they're almost impossible to get hold of game enabled.

The N504 was released in Switzerland and has the joystick ports.

The N505 was released in the rest of Europe (I saw one on Tottenham Court Road) and doesn't have joystick ports (but does have a jog dial).

Madbury - where did you get your Nuon? Care to sell it?

From what I've seen, the game is easier to get than the machine these days, especially the N504 which was de-listed last autumn.

I purchased it on ebay about a year ago. Had it shipped to a guy in Texas who was kind enough to mail it to the UK.

Total cost was less than ?100 once it landed in my lap. I've not experienced TK3 yet. I'm considering chods offer atm.

Anyhoo, I love my NUON. VLM2 is great and it supports MP3 playback, so it's great for some background trippy light and music fun. I also heard that the VLM can be played with in depth if you have one of the analogue logitech joypads. Again another feature I have yet to try out.

Hehe, do a search on Ebay for N501, or N504.

Make sure you tick the "items Worldwide" option though.

can't find any N504s, and only a couple of crappy second hand N501s.

guald I was'nt expecting so many replys(if any at all),thx so much fellas,Choddo you have pm mate.From my very limited knowledge I'am guessing that as the N501 is a US machine that it doesn't have any RGB inputs/outputs and replys on S Video,would this be right?Is a step down on some kind needed for the player?

I did have links, but they expired. I was looking into buying a nuon about 4 months ago, and there was a regular e-bay seller selling new n501s for $80 a pop (lots of sequential auctions with the buy it now price always set at $80).

Had a look today, there aren't any new nuons for sale, and I can't remember the name of the original e-bay trader

The model to get would be the N504 if we could find one, the only nuon with an interactive hi-res vlm.
