I should think you'd be OK to phone them. English is the lingua franca over there. When I visited Amsterdam, native customers and restaurant staff conducted orders in English!

I just figured they would be more honest with a fellow countryman who could possibly come down to the store with pliers and a blowtorch, than some limey on the phone with a credit card number.

Will give it a while then probably call them. Where's Steve Mclaren when you need him?
