Contra PS2 with stick?

It doesn't really work with the SC2 stick which is a bit of a shame.

The controls use L1 and R1 to cycle through your weapons, and L2 and R2 to lock your gun in one direction or lock your character in place. The alternative control settings offered still all require all 4 shoulder buttons which aren't on an SC2 stick.
