          The way I did it:

          1. chip XBrick
          2. Install new HDD (otional but preferable)
          3. Download (or get) Emus and Roms on DVDR
          4. Dump on HDD
          5. Play.

What's the standard size (in Gig I suppose) of the XBox hard drive? I've bot increased mine & just wondered how much stuff I'm likely to get on there?

I think the size of the HD depends on which batch of Xbox you got - some are 8Gb others up to 20Gb...

If you're just sticking old Roms on there you'll have enough space for thoughsands of games on a standard HDD.

just got to say been playin dodonpachi & burning fight
via emulation last couple of days after buying a chipped
box, and it is some of the finest gaming i've had in months.
                emu on xbox is essential.

                  Quick related question:

I have an Xbox with Xecutor 2, also I have a DVD-R with MameX on it and roms. I can get hold of Evo-X and if I do can I then run the DVDR on the Xbox and play the emu like a normal game or do I still need to connect it upto a PC and store the emu on the HDD?

you can run most of the homebrew stuff off either cd/dvd or the hdrive, mame for certain.

If you have the mamex .xbe file just straight on the disk(not in a folder) you could rename it to default .xbe, then it could be run without installing evox

Another way you could do it, is to put all you emulators in there own folder on the disk. Then put boxplorer or something similar as your default.xbe (so it boots instead of the dashboard)and chose which emulator you want to run.

                      Sorry if I confused anyone.

Ooo, I can't connect my XB to our PC and I'm not knowing enough to fiddle with it anyway so I'd rather just put EvoX on the Box and then thats that and just run everything off disc. Thankfully I'm not that interested in the stuff beyond Emu's and Imports. I'm going to get my PS2 Messiah'd so whilst I wait I might get EvoX done too....hmm, dunno....I'd have to lose my progress on KOTOR as well....

Is it worth it for what I want?

Why would you lose your progress on KOTOR?

The install shouldn't interfere with and game saves at all!

Really?! I thought to change it over to EvoX they had to wipe the HDD?

Great! That MameX disc is begging to be played.

But given my 'insert disc and play' hopes for EvoX, should I do it?

Then there's the carrying the damn thing and a PS2

Also, if the emulator is on the DVDR along with the roms, can it be run off the disc without transfering the emu file onto the HDD?
