VDSL2+ Good for gaming?

Hi,

I've been offered the chance to move to a new subscription on my network. It's called "VDSL2 +"

They say that I will get 37Mb down and 17 Mb up (From a max 40/20).

Today I only have 17Mb down and 1400kb up.

Can anyone tell me if VDSL2 is going to be any good for gaming? Does this technology have big drawbacks for Ping and stuff?

Currently I get a ping of 12-18ms in Norway and 30-50ms to the UK, but it's a very "Clean" line and the quality has been good.

The provider is not changed, just a different service and box.

Any comments welcome!

17Mb up? heheh. erm no idea about the answer to your question though. Sorry. Can you ask the providers? No point in asking people in the UK. Our BB is pretty lame.

I can pay a tenner less & get only 5Mb up

But as work pays I thought I'd go for the faster one. (I do have a business case for high upload too)

Just worried it might be some kind of new tech that's great for burst transfer, but poor for QOS.

I'll do some googling!

If it's good for gaming I just figured it might be useful for hosting some NTSC-uk games etc in the future.

Seems pretty good. I live 350m from the exchange so distance is OK.

I'm on an Internet connection of 512k down and 128k up, questions like this make me utterly depressed.
