Decent 32" LCD tv for games and pc stuff

I'm looking to get a cheapish (around £300-350) 32 lcd tv which I will mainly be using for games but also as a pc monitor for watching films on.

This one seems alright: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5293915/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CHome+entertainment+and+sat+nav %7C14419512/c_2/3%7C15701169%7CTelevisions%7C14419667/c_3/4%7Ccat_14419667%7C32+inch+LCD+TVs%7C14419678.htm

I'm not obsessed with all the technical details but I would like it to look right through hdmi for 360 and through vga for my pc stuff. Also, maybe pointless but do any of these lcd tvs have a decent rgb output for playing older stuff like ps2 and back or do they all look like ****?

Any thoughts or recommendations would be most apprecaited!

    Thank you.

Out of interest - does anyone know if there is a version / model of that TV that has roughly the same spec but is true HD?

Definitely get your 32" from Richer Sounds instead of Argos. Better warranty and range of products, and more bang for your buck all round. (Don't get your cables from RS though, they seem to bump up their cabling prices exponentially.)

Recommend those Samsungs. Mine has no noticable imput lag and copes pretty well with fast moving, high contrast games (some blur but only very very minor).

Play my PS2 through it as well as the PS3 (be warned, HDTVs are not kind to jaggie filled PS2 games)

Samsung is one of the best LCD TV brand right now. I bought one myself some eight months ago and it gives me no issues thus far. What attracted me to it was its picture quality and it has a very low price compared to some other brands.

Sony 32S5500, some shops do offer the sony trade in deal, so you probably can get of ?50 if you trade in an old TV.

                You mean this one?

Is it really important to have full HD rather than HD ready? Is it worth an extra ?75?

I did have a 42 hitachi plasma which wasn't full hd and yet looked fine to me in 1080p for Xbox 360 games.

                Cheers.

                  Im guessing you mean 1080i?

Lots of people are happy with HD-Ready much in the same way some people dont think HD anything is better than non-upscaled DVD. In the same way plenty of people refused to accept DVD lookng better than VHS.

1080p looks better than anything lower on a quality screen and some people want things to look their optimum. Id certainly pay the extra

No it's not the most important thing, the processing on offer is the key rather than the resolution spec for sure. I.E. clearly a HD Ready Pioneer is going to murderkill a 1080p JVC LCD etc. Though in the case of the Toshiba there id say its worth it as reviews are very good especially regarding SD viewing, & the RV range is a step up from the cheaper AV range.

it is important if you dont want around 4-5% of the screen missing (overscan on a 720p display)

Thanks to everyone who advised. I ended up ordering the Samsung LE32B550.

Very good choice for the money. The 40" version measured absolutely brilliantly:
