Xbox 360 Licence Transfer Tool can transfer stuff from multiple accounts

    Hey all,

I just got a new hdmi 360 to replace my ageing 2005 model and just remembered about the licence transfer tool.

When I logged in on the site, it had about 8 consoles in the list, all with different amounts of licenses (from 1 up to 30-odd). The thing is, I've got three acounts now - my current gold one and two old silvers that I no longer use (but kept for licensing reasons) - and I have stuff bought with the old silver accounts.

The thing is, when I go to the licence transfer page it asks me to sign into my account and now I'm confused - all the downloads have a gamertag and console licence, and this transfer tool handles the console licence, but I'm thinking it's going to only let me do it once with one account and then I'll have to wait a year to use it again.

It's strange because I was hoping it moves all the console licences tied to a specific console, regardless of which gamertag was used to buy them but while it does consolidate multiple console licences onto one console, it seems it'll only do it for whichever gamertag you sign into the tool with.

Has anyone used the tool and/or been in a similar situation?

I was just doing all my licences today on my new elite (to replace my almost dead arcade unit). I'm not too sure what to advise. I would think
that it will only let you do the one tag for the year, but maybe if you phone microsoft and explain your probelm they could help you out?

On a different note I had 830 items to re download! Luckily some of it was just free themes and pics, demos, and the suchlike. Still spent about 45 mins going through it all though.

I'm looking at my three accounts and wondering which to migrate. It'll be funny if it does migrate everything but I doubt it. As for MS, they keep stating they'll only do one console migration per year even if you ring. It seems their idea of the proper way is to keep sending your consoles for repair and not just buy new ones.

My old silver account just has my Sega MD games on it which need to be refunded by MS anyway as they have dodgy licences (stay in trial mode even if signed in), the other silver account has HD Remix and the Mirror's Edge Time Trials, both of which I'd be playing while signed into my current gold account so they seem the prime candidates. My current gold account has MvC2, KOF98 and the SF4 alternate costume pack but as I'm always signed in with it there's less reason to migrate those.

I'm going to do the HD Remix and Mirror's Edge account and see what happens.

        GOOD NEWS!

The 12-month limit is per account, not per console!

I've just performed the transfer for both old silver accounts and it went off without a hitch, AND it's fixed the Sega game licence problem* so no need to ring MS to get the points refund! Just need to run it on my gold account and that'll be everything sorted.

        * Sega game licence problem is where games you've bought on one console stay in trial mode on another one even if you're signed in properly and the only way around it is to ring MS and they refund you the points so you can rebuy the games and get a new, working licence.
