Japanese Wii ebay dramas! Advice required

Earlier in the week i bought a Japanese Wii on ebay as i've been after one for a while, i communicated with the seller beforehand who clarified that this wasn't a modded Pal machine or anything like that and was apparently bought in Japan without any knowledge of region coding until they returned back here

Then the machine turned up.....i open the shoddy packaging they provided to be greeted by about 5 copied games in sleeves with covers staring back at me

Obviously i'm not very happy about this, if i'd wanted to go down the Modded route to play imports then i just would've bought a Pal machine

So then now i need to decide whether it's even worth my while keeping this Console or sending it back and kicking up an almighty stink, what i'm worried about is when my copy of Sin And Punishment 2 turns up (or any game i play) that it will install some sort of update that will brick the console, is this likely?

Is there anyway to disable the chip thats no doubt in there? If it was a Pal machine i'd just do the Homebrew channel method but with it being a Japanese machine that will be a small nightmare

    Thanks for any advice

    James

I'd send it back James, not worth the potential hassle.

Tried the copies, all work so it's definatly modded, plus it was described as new and the controller is grubby and there's even a f*cking Mii already made in the name of "Bazza"!!

      EBAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!

You know that it's possible to mod a PAL Wii with AnyRegion Changer which basically makes the console a JPN machine in all but packaging? This is the route I would have used if I was buying one today for my US machine. If you can use the BannerBomb it's a simple matter of copying a couple of files from PC>SD>Wii to get the HB channel and from there to ARC.

Anyway, I would return the console to the seller since it's clearly a complete and utter con.

Report to eBay about item not as described, file case, await request to return the console and get your money back.

Did you check the serial number? The Japanese one start with LJ, that way you can at least figure out if it is a japanese model.
