    Mp3 Player Recommendations - 16GB or better

Basically, I'm looking at getting an Mp3 Player for my dad for Christmas. He has a 512MB one at the moment, and has to constantly swap his files off, which is somewhat annoying. He listens to a lot of radio plays and albums, so he's constantly having to do this. So I was thinking of getting one with bigger storage, without getting too expensive.

What's the cheapest non-crap 16GB player around at the moment? We don't really care about fancy features like video playback etc, it just has to play Mp3s! Ideally bigger storage would be better but I think we'd be getting quite expensive if we get into HDD-based players.

I can see this being a Ipod V the rest. But my personal favourite is Creative cause the sound quality and fidelity is better, this little beauty is awesome, and only £ 74 bargain.

Just been shopping for the exact same thing for my Dad!

Went with the Sansa Fuze in the end, the 8GB model was around ?55 but is has a Micro SD slot to expand the memory.

The sound is one of the best out there and its a quality little player, really nice and easy to use.

Look it up online, there are lots of good things said about it.

Thanks guys £74 is pushing it a tad high in terms of price, especially given he won't have much use for the video playback (although I do like my Zen Vision M!). £55 is getting closer though, and expandability sounds great!

No real fixed amount as such, £50 was a rough limit that I was hoping to place, though I recognise that's not very realistic, and it's a flexible 'limit' The less the better really. Maybe a 4/8 GB player with SD is more realistic?

In terms of sound quality I really like Sony players. Amazon have a pretty good deal on one of their 16gb players at the moment (£59.99).

The only bad feedback seems to relate to the low volume levels. However, it appears that there is an option to disable the volume limiter.

Cheers for the recommendations guys, settled on the Archos 2 Vision 8GB, since 8GB is rather sizable and it support MicroSD/SDHC for expansion
