    Xbox 360 wired connection problem

I've recently moved and last night I setup my 360 and I am having trouble with connecting my 360 to my router for a connection (wired).

When the settings are on automatic, I just get all zeros for IP address, Subnet mask etc. When I enter all the information manually, it still doesn't work.

I randomly got it to work with Automatic IP settings and Manual DNS settings but after switching the system off and on again, it did not work.

My router is a 'Linksys Wireless-G'.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thank you.

is it the same router you always used?

Perhaps do a nice factory reset to your router

Yeah, it's my normal router, however my cable modem has changed.

      This video guide worked: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTUwrC8EDn8

Any ideas why this method is needed when it was fine before?

I'll try a factory reset as well.

Update: All working fine now on automatic. No idea what caused the problems.

No idea why it has changed, but put the 360 in the DMZ for trouble free Live (should be a router setting). Then you don't have to mess about with port forwarding.
Is UPnP turned on? If not, then maybe it was before. Leave it off unless you need it for another device though.

Perhaps being off for so long in the move made it lose the settings. Clutching at straws here.
