Running Planescape: Torment on an NC10

Can someone give me an idiots guide on how to get this running? Obviously there's no CD drive so I need to know how to install it and then play it!

    Thanks

daemon tools or alcohol 120% (I prefer daemon tools, A120% has botched up 2 seperate windows installs.

Seek out a completely reputable and legal download site, load the disc image into daemon, install and copy over the no-cd patch. You could make a disc image yourself but it depends on the copy protection on if it'll run from a virtual drive without a crack.

DO NOT load the disc image from a USB stick. Copy it to the HDD first. They may have fixed it in recent versions but doing that, then removing the stick usually results in blue screens on bootup.

here is a guide to get it to run without discs, but getting it onto the computer in the first place without a disc drive might be trickier.

As you've bought it, how about just obtaining it online as a download?

Cheers, I shall give that a go! Is there a patch or owt to fix the resolution or will it work OK on the NC10 screen?

Look for Bigg's Widescreen mod. I followed the guide here and had it running nicely in 1280x1024 as of last night. Nothing there about a no CD mod though.

Can't you borrow a USB DVD drive off someone or buy one of these leads and use a standard PC DVD drive, I did in the end, made netbook life much easier in the long run.

Psst... I have the DVD version too. They've just edited the .ini file to point to folders labelled cd2, cd3 and cd4 on the DVD itself.

Only issue I can think of with the widescreen mod is the screen resolution of the NC10- does it run in at least 1280 pixels vertically? The user interfaces might be messed up if it's at a lower resolution.

                    NC10 is 600 vertically

I don't think it'll work for your screen then. With that said, it's not too far off the original resolution, height-wise.

Game is installed and appears to be working near perfectly...

                        Thanks for all your help!
