    Freelancer sound issue

    Yo

Today I installed a shed-load of new codecs (both video and audio) on my PC, and now there seems to be half the sound missing on Freelancer.

I've done a bit of snooping and apparently the problem lies in a codec called "nimo". No doubt this was installed but I've no idea how to UNinstall a codec.

Will this work, if so how do you do it? If not, has anyone else had the problem and managed to fix it?

A patch would be nice, Microsoft...

EDIT: Fixed it already. Thanks anywho.

What did you have to do to fix it, for those who may find themselves in a similar position?

      Ooops, sorry.

If you're using Win2k/ XP you need to go into Start/ Run and type regedit. Delete the following key \HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ Drivers32\msacm.l3acm

Then pop your Freelancer disc in, open it and go into the REDIST foler, therein run the WMFDist.exe.

Not too sure what repercussions deleting that key will have with anything else, but it fixed my FL problem.
