Where are my Outlook Emails Stored

    Hey there,

Im changing computers soon and I want to save all my emails from outlook onto a disc and then copy them into the same folder on the new machine, so I basically copy all my emails from one machine's outlook to anothers. Can some one tell me where saved emails are stored?

    Thanks

    wrong forum but

    Under 2k/xp:

    C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\Local Settings\
    Application Data\Identities\{randomstring}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

If its 'proper' Outlook just archive them into a .pst.

or you could forward the emails to yourself
setup outlook on the other computer
      pick up your e-mails.

Which version of Outlook have you got?
If it's Outlook Express, you can use this program (free) to extract the email.

I think this is your best option.
I thiiiiiiiiink it's hidden somewhere in the Windows folder on 9x/ME
          But I'm not 100% sure.

Im running XP, I have found the folders with the .dbx files in, do I just put them in the same folder on my new computer or is it harder than that?

Put them in a folder on your new PC, personally I've put them in my windows user dir.

Open OE and under the maintenance tab, options screen, point the data source to the directory above. Restart OE, bob's your uncle.

The recover inbox and outlook express email recovery has prompted you a path of the Outlook Express files' storage. And now save the damaged dbx files in the safe folder, they can be useful.
