    Japanese 360 PSU query

    I got a new Japanese Elite, 12V 12.1A (Jasper?) machine. It has a 100-127V 4.0A input 150W power brick.

I have a UK Elite PSU which says 2.5A (12V 14.2A output) and 175W rated.

Do I have the wrong PSU?

IIRC old (more powerful) PSUs will plug in and work with newer (and less power hungry) models.

Aye, I just tried it after a bit of googling said the same thing. After all a 175W rated PSU on a 150W hungry model is an upgrade I just wanted to make sure the different ampage wouldn't do any damage over time.

It's not really an upgrade as such, but if it works that's great. \o/

Nice to know, I plan to get one too and my PAL 360 is a Falcon.

From what I've read it's not physically possible to fit an incorrect plug into the wrong 360. They put little blockers in, so it's like fitting a square peg into a round hole. Don't take it as gospel, though.
