    Champ Man...

I'm sure there must be some Champ Man players here.

Is anyone interested in setting up a ntsc-uk league?

Keep it simple, english league only etc.

Anyway, it might be better to wait for the 2003/04 update that is apparently on it's way.

Also, am I the only one who prefers CM01/02 to CM4?

A few of my friends are really big fans, they may be willing to sign up to this board just to compete like that.

Perhaps I'll put it by them.

Hey I'd be up for that Bagsy the evil Reds of Manchester though Cristiano Ronaldo will roast all your asses

But yeah I think waiting for the new update would be a good idea. Are we talking one person running the game and we all pick teams through them, or a proper internet game? I think the network code still needs a little work in CM4

as far as I know, it would mean one person hosting. So that would probably be better suited to someone with a good connection. I think anyone who wants to join should have broadband just to keep it smooth.

I prefer 01 / 02 to cm4 aswell. the top down view of the action in a match slows down my whole computer and the game doesnt all fit on my pc screen.

Good plan. Knew I was paying 23 quid a month for something.

Before patch 5 I was a bit worried about CM4, but now its great. Can't go back to text commentary after you've watched your tactics actually playing out before you

Yeah, patch 5 sorted things out a lot for me too. Though I had a wee bit of trouble playing a network game with my brother. I hosted and when my team was playing in the UEFA cup, over on his side it said I was in the intertoto cup, and when I got knocked out the league cup, on his side it said I was in the draw for the next round.

I can't remember if that was before or after I installed EP5.

2003/2004 update? That'll be the one without Sports Interactive then? No ta.

Whether it's the bugs or not, I don't like the feel of CM4. Trying to keep the baggies up is tough enough, let alone when the board only lets you offer ?500 a week to a good player. And why is there so many unnessecary pauses?

At least in previous version I can win things. Like Champions League with Leeds. In the first season. Having bought no-one.

Sports Interactive will be working on 03/04, after that they are finished with Eidos. Eidos will retain the rights to the name Championship Manager only, SI will be announcing their own plans for the 04/05 season when they see fit.

CM4 for is loads better than 01/02 when you get into it. Granted, it's not the leap that many were hoping for but it's still great. Currently pushing for promotion to the prem with Northampton.

I'd gladly play a multiplayer game but I won't be getting broadband until November so it's a no go at the moment.
