Which is lighter - Wii or PS2?

This might seem like an odd post. I'm going to live abroad for a bit, and want to take a console with me. I'm leaning towards the Wii or PS2, as both make it easy to play games from the hard disk, therefore I don't need to lug games about with me.

But what's lighter? Easyjet don't allow too much baggage. Choices are:
Wii, usual accessories, external hard disk.
PS2, usual cables, internal network adapter and hard disk.

I reckon the Wii would be a bit lighter, but both are in storage at the moment so I don't know for sure...

The wii, ps2 is a bit heavier with hard disk and network adaptor, and its more wires, wii is very easy to transport. It doesn't have a hard disk though, just 512MB internal flash memory

You can only use a hard drive with the fat PS2, and they actually are quite heavy once you have the hard drive and network adaptor all connected. On the other hand, those newer super-slim PS2 consoles are probably one of the lightest home consoles out there (but have no hard drive capability).

The Wii itself is extremely light, and offers easy options for emulation using an SD card (using software hacks and nothing more) if that interests you. It does have an external power supply though. It is also easier to make a Wii region free.

There are solutions to run Wii games from USB hard drive, but I don't know much about it.

Yeah I was just about to say, you can totally run Wii games from a USB HDD using applications like NeoGamma and Coverflow Loader in the Homebrew Channel. Wii will most definitely be the lighter option, plus its diminutive size will make it way easier to pack.
