Hey guys,
My trusty 60 gig PS3 YLODed on me last month. Seeing as it was the full blown model with everything in it, I had it repaired by a shop (it's out of warranty and a US model anyway so sony wouldn't touch it), but the fix barely lasted and the YLOD happened again today. I'm taking it back to the shop but am thinking of not bothering afterwards, selling it and buying a PS3 slim as I'm not confident the fix will last. Seeing as I've amassed a few region A blurays, I was thinking about buying a US slim from VG+. Is the slim the same as the fat in regards to the power unit, ie all I'll have to do is get a european cable to plug it in without needing a stepdown converter (from what I understood the slim uses the same cable as the PS2, right ?)
Also, in case I manage to sell my old model, all that I need to do to wipe out all my info from the system is to delete all my user accounts, right ? (I'm thinking of formatting the hard drive as well).
