    Right-angled figure 8 power cable

Does anybody know where I may find one of these? Try as I might I only seem to come across right-angled IEC cables.

I'd really appreciate any help in locating one.
    Kept you waiting, huh?

Gather round my sons, and I will tell you a story...

I just bought a new slim PS3. It is mounted on a shelf. Now the shelf is pretty deep, but because of the power cable sticking out of the back I am forced to have the unit sitting further forward on the shelf than I prefer. My OCD is going off the scale because of it. Fortunately I have found a right-angled HDMI adapter, but it's no good if the power cable is not the same.

oh come on its only an inch or less forward

saying that, I've got the tape measure out recently and placed my seperates exactly to the right spacing, so erm yeah

Yes, but that inch means that it sticks out over the edge of the shelf. An inch back would be perfect.

What about a Figure 8 to IEC F adapter then using a right-angle IEC plug/cable?

Some of the stand off distance of a straight Figure 8 is the length of cable from the back before you can bend it away. An adapter + RA plug might at least reduce the distance but would it be enough?

I don't think that'd gain me any space as the adapter is pretty large itself.

                  would be perfect though.

I think I may have found a source for one so YAY!

The console does actually need a bit of breathing space at the back too, to stop it frying and whatnot.

Stuff poking out by a fraction would drive me mental too. I know it's stupid but it would. Bizarre.

just poke the rest out a fraction

how is there a de facto standard of how much stuff should poke out?

                          This

is what it looks like now.

                          is how it could look.

Poking out is all important for OCDers such as myself.

                            *brain explodes*

oh come on its only a games console

                            hardly anything of worth

                            I don't get it

if it fits in a) it should fit better in b) with a normal figure 8 IEC cable

The second picture is with no cables, but placed where it would be if I had the right-angled ones. The first picture is a far back as I can sit it with a standard figure 8.
