A photoshop/image/graphic question

I have over 300 images all perfectly square and exactly the same size. I want to lay them all out to make one much larger image. Just side by side in rows and columns type thing.

Aside from placing each one manually in Photoshop, is there an easy way of doing this?

In photoshop (depending on version) File>Automate>contact sheet.

Xnview (free) will also do it. Create>contact sheet.
