    Anyone know anything about these:

I've used their component to vga converter in the past. Worked flawlessly.

No idea about this one but no external power and Interlaced support? Ordered.

More money than sense but mine turned up today.

First, if your using it with a HDTV it's literally plug and play, just make sure to keep it clear of other objects because of heating. Power wise it runs via USB into the Wii which is mainly powering a fan. You just toggle 6 dip switches for the set up.

I turned on the Wii with Mario Galaxy in it to freshly see 480p then set up the upscaler for 1080p colour enhanced HDMI. On turning on the system I immediately noticed the difference but as it's not true 1080p my eyes quickly acclimatised and I stopped noticing it. I'm sure I'd notice it going back, it clears 2D images well. I wouldn't say it's worth the price tag as it's not a huge difference given the Wii's output.

Bottom line positives though is that it turned up, it's solidly built and it does what it says it does. Handy for Mario Galaxy 2

Does it actually scales 480i games, like madworld, as well?

Unless you know that your HDTV is especially bad at handling analogue Component video, there's really no point in this - although I can see why it'd be useful for people with PC monitors they want to use the Wii on.

For TV owners, I imagine it'll add some input lag as well. Wonder if they'll let me review one - I'd be curious to know what parts are inside.

Anyone want to open theirs up and take a photo?

Mine arrived days ago, but no time available to try it

At least, I've got a refund via Paypal for the difference with the new price

Have any modders ever tried cracking open a Wii and pulling digital RGB video directly off one of the chips inside?

I'll post up the tech specs later on as they're detailed on the slip that comes with it.

Test everything you can if possible. I'm sure i read elsewhere that gamecube games don't look too hot on it.

The stereo jack output is for if you wanted to hook it up to a pc vga monitor right?

Quite interested in this as i've never been happy with the quality on component on any standard equipment.

Yup, the jack is generally for monitor support. If you're running it through HDMI it'll happily run the audio through that. I found my Luigi's Mansion and Mario Kart: Double Dash discs so I'll give them a whirl with some Wii and VC/Wiiware games tonight and see if the visuals hold up across the range.

i really woundnt bother upscaling the wii's picture, unless you need to output it to a pc monitor. I have used a few upscalers and 480p via component always looks the best and most accurate.

The thing to look out for is what 480i looks like, especially during motion.
