Original XBOX HDD's IDE Vs SATA

I'd like to improve on the 320GB I have at the moment, and the biggest IDE I can find is 750GB? However all the IDE drives are pretty pricey in comparison to the SATA HDD's
I picked up a SATA to PATA IDE converter adapter card on the off chance I may opt for SATA one day, and I can always use it in my old desktop.

Anyone here running a SATA HDD in a original XBOX, or a +500GB IDE? Project KATSU-X must continue

Yeah, I read that entire thread 5 times and no conclusive outcome
I found the adapter from that very thread

Looking at the http://xboxdrives.x-pec.com/?p=list is also totally confusing as they do not seperate IDE & SATA drives, leading me to have to search for each HDD seperately to see if there is a result... No result is also not a good result as it just means no-one has tried, on top of that the negative or positive results are equally as useless as there is conflicting reports and the details are often wrong! One read as LOCKED on the main chart and within the text stated it wouldn't lock and this was a good thing!?

You could always do what I do, I have a 1TB network HDD linked to my original xbox, means my PC doesn't need to be on to stream movies/music etc and I keep my (legitimately backed up) games on the internal HDD.

A network HDD is an option, and I am sure I will do this eventually. But i'd really like to see what I can get running inside the XBOX 1st, need to keep myself busy and learning things

          I have a managed to put in 40, 80, 300, 320GB HDD's into my 1.6 Crystal so far.
