Samsung SKY+HD box - can you help?

Just received a SKY+HD box (model: HDSKY)

It appears to have 3 power modes:
green: ON
amber: STANDBY
red: OFF

I'm told that red OFF will still power up on its own when a programme needs recording when I'm not there - if this isn't true on this box, please let me know.

I can only get it to red OFF by holding down the power button on the box for 5 seconds which is frankly retarded. Is there a way of doing this from the remote? I want my Harmony remote to put it to red OFF when I turn off on the remote if possible.

I was under the understanding there is only one type of HD box now anyway? At least that's what our last engineer told me! In that respect, if that's the case you just turn it "off" by the remote control, it goes to red.

Also, for the record I've had failed recordings when it's "off".

Hmm. Manufacture date on mine is Feb 2010.
From the manual:
"Switching to standby can save up to 50%. Press the standby button (so the light on the box turns amber). Alternatively you can switch your box off by pressing and holding standby for 5 seconds (so the light turns red). The box cannot provide any features when off. The box will auto standby after any inactive 2 hour period between 11pm and 4am".
