I am trying to fight Plant 42, and wasting loads of ammo. I was under the impression that Rebecca is suposed to become controllable, so you can make some of that V-JOLT (or V8 or whatever) to kill the plant with it.

But no. She shows up just after the big fight, and then runs off again.

Doesn't it depend on whether you ask her to stay in that Medicine Room or not. When you first meet up with her, she asks if she can come with you or somethng. Your answer determines how things play out later.

A similar thing can happen in Jill's game. If you meet Barry in the hall early on, he'll save Jill from the plant with a flamethrower. But if you meet him on the balcony where Forrest is, he won't save you (and Jill can make the V-Jolt herself). Not sure if Jill's scenario plays out like that in RE-make, but its definately like that in the PS original.

The only choice I have with Rebecca is wether or not she heals my wounds. This is just after you fetch her the serum.

I can handle Plant 42 easily enough, I just want to make sure I don't run out of ammo later. This happened once before, and I gave up and started again >_<

I always found that really pissed me off in the RE games, the running out of ammo and getting stuck on a crappy boss bit.

Well when i was Chris i killed the plant with fire power and was unable to kill it with any poison.

I think that you can only Kill it with poison via it's roots when you play through with Jill. I could be wrong though because i never bothered to finish the GC version and i have'nt played the PSone version in years.

You hit the nail on the head there. I have just done exactly as you describe. I 'll just have to do some serious dodging for the next few hours to conserve some ammo, although I do believe the hunters are about make an appearance...

I'm surprised actually. I got the remake a year ago (can't believe it's been a year and a week since its PAL release (remember the day like it was yesterday, got Tekken 4 the same day) and I only completed the game once, then never went back to it. I enjoyed it immensely but I could never get the enthusiasm to do it again. Strange, as I completed the first 3 multiple times (Nemesis especially I enjoyed doing over and over again thanks to all the multiple choice options).

Perhaps I should go back to this once I finished Chrono Trigger.

Square, thought I'd revive this thread as I came across the following in a Plot Analysis FAQ over at GameFAQs.

3. Jill can manufacture V-Jolt by herself, then use it in the
boardroom in the Aqua Ring to weaken Plant-42. When she enters
that room, Plant-42 will grab her, and Barry will come in with
a flamethrower to rescue Jill. Chris has to fight the plant on
his own, unless Richard died in the mansion attic; if that's
the case, Rebecca will have to save Chris by making V-Jolt.
