PS1 CD Music Screen

Remember either:

the demo disc with the Psygnosis app which let you swap the disc, insert an audio CD and would then fill the screen with a light show affected by the music.

Or the later version PlayStations which had the same feature built in.

Why was this not included in the PS2? anyone?

cos they thought an grid of grey boxes and a bright white panel burning your tv phospors in good & proper was a really good idea. grr.

just going thru old piles of discs and the thought came across, would surely be so simple - seeing as the PS2 is backwards compatible and the code couldn't have been the most difficult in the world if any changes needed to be made.
