PS2 Controller port problem

Hello people I seem to have a minor problem with the ports on the PS2.
My controller often shows not recognised, with a wiggle it works again. It's fine most of the time but I noticed when the vibration is active it then rejects the pad.
Anyone had a similar problem? Is it best to just replace the ports?
If so is it easy and has anyone got and spare parts knocking about?

It's a fat 5000 asian model.

I have two SCPH-3000x I have knocking about for spares - if the controller ports would work on it you could have one for a fiver incl postage - unless they're cheaper on eBay.
