I think maybe when I touched it, I transfered some sort of energy into the chip
You might have turned it into a super hero.

No wonder they're charging ahead then.

Any idea of 3dfx patents are starting to make it into nVidia's guff?

I thought something on the last set of boards came, originally, from 3dfx. Can't remember what though.

Ahhh they were good days. With my twin Voodoo 2 boards. They seemed unstoppable for a long time .

I think the FSAA in the GF cards comes from 3dfx, they had some clever AA stuff they were putting in the Voodoo5s before they went barking mad

Well depending on the price, and if you manage to enable the other 4 pixel pipelines, it looks like a frikkin bargain

Or you could hold on for the 9800XT & 9600XT, both being cards of choice for HL 2, which are due this October alongside Catalyst Version 3.8

for those that want to know the screen when from bad to worse, the monitor just turning off then XP restarting with out a prompt.

Then windows cutting to 4bit resolution with error messages with problems with video device or drivers. The pc is only 2 months old and had worked fine and now all this.Have took out the card and sent it back so fingers will get a new one by the end of the week.

Have you got AGP fast write enabled in the bios as i`ve heard this can cause corruption on the Radeon cards?

If I hadn't already upgraded I would seriously think about one of these (though I may still do if my current card is b0rked and needs returning - I'm checking out a few things like power supply and all possible driver updates before it has to go )

While I gather its not much faster than the 9800 Pro as it stands, its apparently rather nifty in that it self-overclocks

The first ones are out now in limited numbers, and Half Life 2 is free with it - except all you get in the box is :-

"IOU One Copy of Half Life 2 when its released signed ATI" cos its still not out yet ( see my bitching and moaning in the other thread )

And get this, the voucher allows you to get the game off Steam or on traditional retail but you still have to pay extra shipping costs
