Re-use an old sky+ Hard Drive

Frankly I'm a bit crap when it comes to putting hardware together. I have an old Sky+ box sitting around doing nothing after I upgraded to HD.

What I want to do is take the hard drive out, slap it in some sort of casing and use it as as an external HD.

All the guides I've found explain how to upgrade an exisiting drive, not re-use an old one.

    Anyone done this?

(Wasn't sure whether to post this here on in the AV forum, apologies if I've got it wrong)

Well, post a pic here, someone will tell you if it's IDE or Sata and then just buy an external caddy for it.

How big even are the original Sky+ HDDs? Not sure if it would even be worth it really, you could just sell the box on Ebay and buy a new external HDD.
