Need DVD player that can record video games consoles via RGB Scart

Hi i want to buy a DVD recorder that can record videogames in 60hz specifically also by using RGB Scart output from the console. I bought a Panosonic one a year or so back but had to sell it because although it recorded in 60Hz it didnt record in RGB (it did record in RGB Scart in 50hz). Please can anyone tell me a make and model of recorder that can do this? , please help i have been wanting to find a DVD recorder like this for ages. Thank you

Surely no UK model will record in 60hz as our TV standard is 50hz. 625-line/50hz (576i). You'd need an NTSC or multisystem model to do that. At least I think so anyway.
    Kept you waiting, huh?

you'd probably have more luck finding a model that can record it via component inputs, RGB scart is a very euro-centric format

thanks for the replies. i dont mind getting a multisystem. I thought RGB scart was the best output thats why i wanted that. if i use component wont i get worse pic quality? also will PAL 60 be recordable on overseas players? i hope so.

any details of any dvd recorders that i can use to record and are good quality would be helpful to me, thank you very much.

No, Component > RGB > Composite so component is best.

Component and RGB SCART are basically equal because both send RGB video, Component simply sends it encoded as YPbPr instead. Component supports 480p as spec though, and is more likely to be found an NTSC device, which you will probably need for recording purposes.

What will you do with it afterwards? Just keep it on dvd? If going on to a PC, you could miss out the dvd step by getting a capture card instead.

^PAL60 isn't actually an official standard, thus support is rare on European DVD recorders given they record at 25fps.

I would've thought at least one of the Panasonic DVD-RAM models would be able to do this. Maybe have a sift through some of the instruction manuals on the Panasonic UK support site.

thanks for all the help, i was getting mixed up with composite when i said i thought RGB was better. thats good news if i can use component. thanks oldfart i will check those manuals out.

i am going to put them on PC but i really like the ease of just plugging the consoles into my DVD. i have used this method before for recording 50hz consoles and it works great.

Thanks for all the help again
