XBox UnleashX memory card game save 'bug'?

I've just used an AID v.4.4 disc I had burned for me to mod my Xecuter 2.6 chipped but near enough virgin XBox. Used one click install and everything bar one minor issue went perfectly.

However on viewing my game saves using the UnleashX dash game save manager I noticed that whilst all the game save stuff that was on the HDD is fine all the (official) memory card game saves were apparently missing. The settings/configuration files for the games are all there just not the actual game saves.

Long story but eventually I discovered they are actually still all there and if you swap to the MS dash you can copy/delete them as normal. But under UnleashX they simply don't display. You can save to the card via the HDD as usual but because the game save file isn't displayed you can't do the reverse or check the save has been made successfully.

Strange thing is that I've also recently softmodded two other XBoxes but using a much older installer/exploit with a much earlier UnleashX dash build - 543 as opposed to the 584 version on the AID v.4.4 disc. The softmodded Xboxes don't present any problem like this.

I've searched and found this was a known bug in some very early versions of the UnleashX dash that was, apparently fixed. So why has it reappeared in what is a very recent (current?) version?

Does anybody here have any experience with this issue/know a fix? If not what should I do - stick with it as it is and just revert to the MS dash when I need to manage my game saves? Or should I consider perhaps FTPing (something I have zilch experience doing) the older UnleashX dash over to chipped machine and installing it as the main dash or maybe better as an additional app/dash?

    Any advice/comments welcome.

I would stick with the install you are most comfortable with tbh, I have experimented with several dashboards and installers.

FTP'ing is very simple and you can do it direct from internet explorer should you need to

As for the games saves manager I have never used it as whatever was on my xbox stayed on my xbox? If I needed a save from one xbox to the other i'd transfer via usb stick on the original dash, or like only the other day FTP it. I even got a save file off gamefaqs the other day As I couldnt be bothered to play through MK Deceptions lame story mode to unlock all the characters! Took a millisecond to get it and then through FTP into UDATA found the file and replaced sorted

Thanks - TBH I don't think the UnleashX or XBMC game save interface is as good as the original MS dash for a number of reasons. Both versions of XBMC I have also feature some minor Program/Gamer Save menu navigation 'quirks' too. It is useful being provided with the game save file ID number but apart from when I need that I think I'm better off sticking to the MS dash.

Re.: USB sticks - I've actually been experimenting with some this week to try and find a XBox compatable one. No luck so far. The two I've bought, both apparently close matches (but unfortunately apparently not identical) to ones known to work, are recognised by my chipped XBox (v1.6) when attached before booting. One of them has some pre-loaded apps (pictures/icons) I can even view using the File Manager but you can't save to either. It just shows them both as (FAT16) memory sticks and gives you an error message

My softmodded (v1) XBox with the older installer/XBMC won't even recognise one of the sticks, maybe because it is a USB 2.0.

With the USB sticks I had 2 lying around that both worked straight off? Both freebies iirc when I get back home I'l see what they are. Key with the USB sticks is to plug them in when the box is on I found and format there, lots of trial and error fun.

I'm sure my chipped box has a the same save files but never bothered to look at them? But popping the ones you do get into the UDATA is uber easy trust me, FTP on explorer is also very easily managed and is how I transfer to all of my xbeasts.
