Itunes alternatives?

Installed an itunes update and its ballsed my Ipod nano 5g up. Its done this before as well and its a pain to fix, so I was wondering if anyone can recommend a free alternative to iTunes? I've looked on google and it seems these are quite hard to find for free. Bloody apple...

Sharepod is quite good for simple transferring

I use Mediamonkey - it's pretty good for basic transfers and tagging.

If you want something really stripped back for just putting music on, try Floola.

Sharepod is all I need, cheers. I mainly listen to podcasts so I just need to transfer files. I'm actually relieved I don't have to use itunes anymore. Thanks!

Sharepod is great - used it for a year. Shows just how bloated itunes is.

Add, delete, set stuff as compilation and change tags and album art. Simple!
