    PC setting or Firefox?

Interesting "issue" here... using Firefox 3.6.3 on my new laptop and all is reasonably well. However if I open a file when I click on it (as opposed to save) then while it remains in my downloads list within the browser, the temp file stored within Local Settings/Temp is deleted when I close Firefox. It doesn't do this on my old laptop, same OS, same version of Firefox. Any thoughts as to why this is happening? Means I have to redownload anything I merely opened the next time I might want to use it (but not save to store).

Is it still in your PC/OS download section?

Yeah, it's still listed in Firefox's download list, just the actual temp file vanishes when I shut Firefox. I'm not sure if that's what IS supposed to happen, and some setting on my previous laptop stops that occurring for whatever reason, or whether it's a bug.

Strictly speaking, all opened rather than saved files get dumped in the temp folder and that should be cleared out on exit or at set times (it's a real pain when temp folders don't get cleared). Probably a case of a newer version of firefox having different default settings (if you updatean old version, it will keep as much of the old settings as possible)

Yeah, that's the only difference; although both run FF 3.6.3 and have the same profile (as I copied one to the other), the new laptop naturally had 3.6.3 installed fresh while the old one has been upgraded to that point.
