Buying a Laptop of Good specs - Where?/Advice?

Looking to buy a reasonably high specced laptop.

    Specs I'm looking for:
    CPU: i5
Graphics: Fairly decent radeon 5650/Nvidia 310M
    RAM: At least 4gb
    OS: Windows 7
Disc: Blu-ray (Really want blu ray)
    Screen: 15-17"

    Preferables:
    Resolution: 1920x1080
Outputs: HDMI And VGA (or just HDMI if VGA not option)

Saw this at Sony style uk:

    Customised VPCF11V5E Vaio:
    • Processor i5-520M (2.40 GHz) with 3 MB L2/L3 Cache
    • Genuine Windows? 7 Home Premium
    • Black
    • 500 GB Serial ATA (5400 rpm)
    • 4 GB 1066MHz DDR3-SDRAM
    • Blu-ray Disc(TM) writer
    • 41.6 cm LCD, 1920x1080+ webcam
    • NVIDIA? GeForce? GT 330M 1GB
    ?900 inc Vat
Love the look of the Vaio and that has all the things I want. Also WRITES to Blu-ray! It's a freebie from sony style that ends today.

Seem to remember when I looked before the Vaio's were the best gaming laptops between £700-900. Be sure to check ebuyer, scan, dabs etc. to see the cheapest you can get (remember that there are usually slight variations in configuration, even if it's the same model number)

One of my friends just got a Vaio of nigh on the same spec for about a grand, it's a chunk of change but the thing is awesome, the 19" screen is a wonder.

I bought this back in March - not 1080 res (1600 x 900) but still looks great with Blu-ray!

Runs L4D2 on top settings (having CTD problems with Steam at the moment though )

            Saw this:

Seems pretty decent for the price. 5650 graphics card, i5 2.26 ghz

That's a good comparison site for graphics cards, the 5650 comes a fair bit ahead of the 310m (and is DX11).

The problem with the amazon one is the graphics cards only a 5470, I'd rather have the 5650 any day

I have an Asus G1s, of course its an older dual core. But it is pretty nippy for a laptop and has a decent 8600 gr onboard. I am sure they must have a more modern version in their republic of games series.
