Left 4 Dead 2 Crashing to Desktop - Windows 7

After a recent Steam update my Left 4 Dead 2 will not work - it just crashes to desktop every time!

My laptop has the specs to run everything on full settings, so thats not the problem. I'm using 32 bit Windows 7 Home Premium.

I've looked into fixes for this problem on the web, but they just mention accessing the CSC folder in Windows. However, I can't find any such folder, even when I've switched on 'show hidden folders'.

Any help with this would be great thanks.

Not sure if Win 7 has a client side cache folder...

    Anyhow, two (possible) solutions:

1: Shortcut your left4dead2.exe (or Launcher) to desktop.
2: Click Mouse2 then Properties (You can see Target)
3: Then add This -lv (it’s like a parameter)

Side effect of putting it into low violence mode though.

1: In steam, right click Left 4 Dead 2 and click “delete local content.” Confirm.
    2: Re-install the game.

I'd try right clicking the game's properties and verifying the cache personally.

        Thanks guys for your help!

I did try the -lv parameter the other day, but to no avail - anyhow, thats a moot point as Valve seem to have resolved this issue now. There was an update when I booted up my notebook last night and so far everything seems to work fine.
