    Pre-ordering

I do appologise if this has been asked before, but I did a search and couldn't find anything, and I also appologise if this is the wrong folder for such a question.

Basically, I'd like to pre-order Soul Calibur 2 (PAL, obviously) so that I get it on the day of release (or the day before). I've currently got a pre-order with Gameplay, because other people I've spoken to suggest that they ship as soon as they get it from the suppliers, so it usually arrives a day early. Trouble is, Gameplay is the most expensive site I've seen it on.

If possible, I'd like to order from Amazon, as it's ?29.99 there, and with 1st delivery is still cheaper than the ?36 it's going to cost from GP. Has anyone used Amazon to pre-order from before? If so, did they ship before the game was officially released?

    Can anyone recommend anywhere else?

depends on where you are in the queue with amazon, I've had games the day after release and I've had more games up to a week after release. At this stage I would stick with gameplay or get it from a shop. Gameplays big selling point is that they get it to you as quick as possible, amazon doesn't try to complete with this. You play more but you get it quicker.

How about Play.com? I've never used them before so I don't know what their service is like.

they seem to take at least a week for me, and I've ordered loads from them before I switched to imports.

Plays service is excellent and they are probably the cheapest site around for most PAL titles. However it takes a while for your order to get to you, about 5 days usually. So if you order from play, you'll get it cheaper, but [more than likely] not on release day...

Guess I'll stick with Gameplay for now then, thanks.
