Anyone know exactly what this file does, I was under the impression it was for compatibility with PS2 games that had an HDD installation option, only game I have to test is Capcom vs SNK 2 but the option is greyed out.

It only allows HDD compatibility with two games as far as I remember.
Final Fantasy XI is one of them and I forget the other. -
Cheers, I did end up finding the page for supported games in the end, think it was around 5 games, as you said Final Fantasy as well as a few Socom titles and Nobunaga's Ambition,
That was the US Sony website though so not sure if the Japanese System Data File for my JPN PS3 differs from that.Comment
