    PSP Custom software question

    Guys

I have a PSP with 5.50 GEN_D3 installed, as I only used the custom software to play MGS and FFVII on my PSP and I have now bought these off the PSN, how can I change my PSP back to its original settings without bricking it or damaging it.

Is it as easy as installing the latest software from a UBD?

Yeah, just install the latest official firmware from a Memory Stick or whatever.

If you want to be especially careful and have one of the batteries used for installing custom firmware, most of those now have a function to install the official firmware themselves. I don't know if they do anything different, mind.

There's no advantage to going back to the official firmware though, so you might want to play it safe and stick to what you have. There's nothing that won't run on custom firmware, as far as I know.

I bought Dissidia and Lunar and I don't think they support the latest CFW.

Ah fair enough. I know a selection of games that require firmware 6.xx games do work on the latest CFW, but maybe the hackers have been slacking recently. Still, it's a bit of a one-way ticket to install an official firmware.

Dissidia is definitely supported by the CFW version I have, you want to use 5.50 GEN-D3

Works with Eye of Judgment Legends too which is more recent - it didn't seem to like the demo off of PSN however which is odd.

Dissidia works fine on mine however Final Fantasy VIII (PSN Download) keeps crashing!

Will official version 6.00 be ok to overwrite 5.50 GEN-D3?
