Handbrake is good if you already have a decryption app. I pay for anydvd by slysoft which is a great piece of constantly updated software.

I seem to remember something about DVD Decrypter not being satisfactory (bad uninstall? weird things installed? apologies if it was something else and i'm being slanderous).

RipIt is a nice little app - http://thelittleappfactory.com/ripit/

But the time served combo of MacTheRipper for dragging the DVD to your drive, then Handbrake has served me well over the years.

DVD43 is free and allows Handbrake to convert DVDs on the fly. However, it doesn't work on 64-bits versions of Windows.

Good point, original poster doesn't say whether they're on a Mac or PC…

That's why Handbrake is the correct answer. It works on both

AnyDvd and HandBrake - not bad encoding times on a pretty knackers (windows 7) laptop.
