Playing US games live on their chipped Xboxs?

I've recently found out that you can change the Eprom to US and play US games with the chip switched OFF and was wondering if you'd be able to play US games on LIVE using the same proceedure?

I spoke to premodded and all I received was a 'try it and find out'nit very reassuring

Just to let you know, I've switced the eprom to NTSC, logged on to Xbox live and can play no problem, I've not tried a us disc, but can imagin there's no problem.

I've checked on various forums and you're normally banned within the week. As I've mentioned to Papercut, I've not actually tried it again since, however, I've have'nt actually found a case yet where someone has tried this and actually got banned, so who knows?

What is it that actually gets banned? The console, the IP address or yourself?

If you had been banned for using a modded xbox, could you go back on Live with a new PAL model?

With premodded don't they give you loads of XB options which you can alter anyway? You can change the IP address etc so that when you try to log in again and your gamertag can be different.

I thought that was one of the benefits of using a modded console if you forget to turn the switch off!

Microsoft ban your MAC address, which means the machine is banned. I've heard that you can change this MAC address (although god knows how as I thought it is normally written in ROM). Try ConfigMagic Final, I'm sure I've seen something about this in there.

they ban ur xbox , not ur account (not yet?), if you get banned , u can get back on live, all you need is a new EEPROM from an unbanned xbox...

I thought it was the serial that they banned on, have they added in the mac address as well? You need a donner xbox thats never going to go on live (I think it can't ever go on live, certainly not at the same time) as you need its serial number transfering to your xbox via configmagic
