In my quest for a US 360 I have perhaps rather foolishly ended up with one of these in my possession. Thankfully it's cost next to nothing, and I'm still gunning to replace it, but in the meantime I'd just like to understand if there are any dangers in using one. I'd have the network cable unplugged at all times, but if I were to play a (legit) game in it on my main profile (via the memory card), would it cause any problems getting online when back on another console? Same question again for the HDD - I've a 20gb HDD that would ideally be going into a non-dodgy machine later, just wanted to make sure I'm not screwing it for future use online by using it in a barred temporary machine.

I think they corrupt your profile and HDD so probably best not using it as you'll lose all your saved data and have to recover your profile every time you go on your unbanned machines. -
Which dashboard is it using? Have a look in the system blade under console info.
I believe something changed with the latest dashboard that no longer corrupts the profile/saves.Comment

I've not got it yet but hopefully it'll be here soon - but I've no idea as of yet. I've also managed to sort out a working US 360 though, so it'll probably be up for sale here shortly. Might do a bit of a 360 graveyard sale along with my dead J360 (with funky fans), spare hdd etc.Comment
