    Wii personal profile transfer

hi, we are moving from the UK to the US, leaving our Wii here for friends and getting a new one over there. My son is distraught about losing his Wii player profiles. I've heard it suggested that it's possible to save these to a SD card and then transfer them. Does anyone know if this is possible? His main games are Mario Cart and Wii Sports Resort. I would be very grateful for any advice.
    Thanks, Trout

PAL game saves aren't transferable to a NTSC Wii unfortunately

Keeps those two NTSC games, copy the saves to SD card and use Gecko to boot these two 'import' games.

As 'AllYourBase' already said, you cant use UK/PAL Wii save files with USA/NTSC Wii games

Additionally, you can't even backup the Mario Kart save file to an SD card without using a homebrew program of some sort, as it has one of those 'uncopyable' save files

Another problem is that even if you were able to backup the save file I dont think you can restore a Mario Kart Wi-Fi profile (If your son plays online) to another Wii console, as the save profile is 'connected' to your Wii consoles number (The DS uses a similar system) so it can only be used on the Wii console it was created on.

If you are desperate to keep the save files I think the best idea is just to take your UK/PAL Wii console and games with you to the USA and then buy an official Wii power supply from Nintendo America, like this:-

You might also need to buy a Wii Component cable instead of whatever video cable you are using now (It depends if your TV in the USA supports PAL Composite signals or not) A Wii Component cable looks like this:-

Check that your USA TV has the correct connections first though.

...The only problem is your UK Wii console wont be able to play USA/NTSC games, but in this situation it would perhaps be worthwhile considering a softmod/modchip for the Wii so that you can also play USA games, however I know some people dont like the idea of tampering with their console.

It all depends on how important the save files are to your son. Good luck with whatever you decide to do
