Final Fantasy Tactics Advance...

So, i bought FFT Advance, but i have a little problem:

In the world map, in the party menu option, when equipping new weapons or new armors, how can i see how the new weapon will change the character stats?

In the manual it says to press R button to see the stats of the weapon and the L button to see how it will change the stats, but i can't seem to make it work.

Does anyone know how to do this?

As far as I can tell, the only way to do this is remember what stats they had before you change the item.

This is far from good.

I'm hoping that theres a better way.

the manual says hold down L, but for some reason they changed it to the START button without telling anybody, goto equip, select the new item you want and hold down START to see the affect it'll have on your stats, red being decrease and green being an improvement.

Yay! Cheers for that, it was getting tedious having to keep flipping screens to see the affects.
