What's the simplest to use DVD ripping software?

I've decided to actually make use of my extensive unwatched DVD collection so going to start ripping avi or Xvids on my HTC Desire.

What software is best? I'd like to keep original aspect ratios and some of the films (Korean) have subtitles.

    Cheers

AutoGordianKnot for xvid conversion. DVD decrypter for ripping maybe with a little help from ripit4me for tricky titles.

I've never used it myself, but I've heard good things about Handbrake.

DVDFab is good but you have to pay.

slysoft's AnyDVD is the easiest decryption app. Worth every penny.
For ripping, I use handbrake which will create decent MP4s optimised for your HTC (search the net for best settings if one of the presets doesn't do what you need) and deal with subs.

Ripping is the process of copying the CD/DVD to your hard drive

Handbrake as far as I can tell will not do this on Windows and uses VLC for this on the Mac but I agree, it is pretty good at transcoding to MP4.
