    Font identification headaches

I'm going to assume this is the right forum as fonts are pretty much a PC specific thing these days. I need to find specific fonts to make replica decals for model kits.

I don't trust that "whatthefont" website at all. It failed to identify an incredibly common computerized font from the 70s, which I also posted to the forum for help but only received incorrect suggestions. (I found the right match myself several months later by pure coincidence.)

That one was solved, but I'm still looking for another gothic style font - if I'm right I think we have some graphic designers here, so hopefully someone here can help?

The image I posted is here:

Identify fonts with our font finder tool using an image or photo. Upload an image, and we’ll search our collection of over 133,000 fonts for the best match.

Does anyone know what font this is?

      Hi Darwock,

      Have you tried identifont?

You answer a series of questions about what your font looks like and it gives a list of suitable options. It's not always accurate, but usually gives you an acceptable alternative if it doesn't hit the nail on the head.

I normally struggle with movie fonts as they're normally unique, but looking at yours, I'm sure you'd find a similar looking gothic one.

      Try these free font sites:
Download Free gothic fonts at UrbanFonts.com Our site carries over 30,000 PC fonts and Mac fonts. You can customize your experience with live font previews. All fonts are categorized and can be saved for quick reference and comparison.

Hmmm... I can't seem to get Identifont to load at the moment.

The image is from a decal sheet for a model kit.

As I'm making replicas, just getting a similar font isn't really going to cut it. I'll make do if I have to but really want to find the real thing.

        Thanks for the links anyhow.
